Finished Product

The Middle tin with dipped goodies

The large tin with cookies!

I finished all the dipping and baking on Monday and delivered the goodies to Dad and Jennifer and Sam and Jenny. Clint wasn’t home and I’m taking Mom’s over on Christmas Eve. (Mom, those one above are pictures of yours!) I admit I haven’t tasted everything yet, but everything I have taste has been pretty good. I hope everyone enjoys their treats!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I tried making a cake that I saw on the Kraft webpage. It turned out looking pretty good. Not sure yet how it tastes as we haven’t cut into it. The recipe can be found here:

I went to Utah last week to visit my good friend Jenn! We’ve known each other since… grade school! She’s living in Utah with her husband Matt who teaches math at Weber State University, and her son Peter, who recently turned 2! She’s a stay at home mommy and I thank her for it! Peter is so smart and well behaved. I’m sure it’s because of all the quality time they get to spend together. If only more mommies and daddies were able to stay home with their kids! It’s tough with the economy like it is (in the crapper!) so I’m extra thankful that Jenn is able to stay home.

I had a GREAT time visiting! I flew in on Thursday Oct. 2, and our goal that night was to watch the VP debate. It was almost as exciting as we expected. No major mistakes by either candidate, unless you count the fact that Sarah Palin didn’t answer any questions… I think that was less mistake and more calculated politics!

Friday we hiked up near Jenn’s house. It was really pretty! The air is thinner up at that elevation though compared to at home. I was huffing and puffing by the time we got to the top! Jenn probably thought I was going to have a heart attack! After the hike we ran around town a little, bought a cake pan, my halloween costume, some produce from a farm co-op she belongs to. Then we had a quick lunch and picked up Matt to take him to Salt Lake to give a talk at University of Utah. After dropping him off we went to Red Butte Garden and walked around there for a while. The flowers were so pretty! And it was fun watching Peter run around and look at everything. I think the highlight was feeding the fish/ducks! He really liked that! After the Garden, we went back downtown and found Obama’s headquarters and Jenn got a sign for her yard. (Hopefully it’s still in the yard!) We visited the coolest library I have ever seen! Then went out to dinner before heading home.

Saturday Jenn and I went to see Nick and Norah’s Infinate Play List. It was cute! I love the guy who played Nick! Gotta love the awkward nerd! We made it home just in time to watch the beginning of SNL…. Tina Fey rules! Funniest opening ever!

Sunday we walked down to a coffee shop in the neighborhood for some chai. yay!

Monday was the sad day… going home. It was a great trip though! I hope they’ll let me come out again some time. It was fun seeing where they live, seeing Utah (which was kinda like a foreign country) and seeing Peter! I’m not a huge kid fan in general. But I’m a HUGE Peter fan specifically!

Thanks Jenn and family for the wonderful long weekend! Hope you like the movie… I hope it works. I’ve never done one before but I was inspired by Peter, and by seeing my friend Tracy’s movies!
