I tried something different for dinner tonight. Actually, it was really similar to some other things I’ve made, like the Taco Ring, but this was the first time I have tried it this way, and it turned out really good! Here’s the ingredients:

1 Pillsbury Pizza dough
1 pound ground beef
1/2 small onion
1 1/2 c Mexican shredded cheese
1 can non fat Refried beans
1 package taco seasoning
2 tablespoons water
olives and whatever else you like on tacos, like salsa, hot sauce tomatoes, etc.

Preheat the oven to 425 and start browning the ground beef. Spread pizza dough out on a cookie sheet (or a Pampered Chef baking stone if you have one!). When oven is heated, put pizza dough in for about 8 minutes. Add onions to ground beef and cook until done. Heat refried beans so they will be easy to spread.
When meat is done, drain and put in a bowl with the taco seasoning, water and 1 c cheese. Mix well. After pizza dough has been in for 8 minutes, take out and spread the refried beans over the top. Then cover with the taco meat. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 c cheese on top and add olives or whatever you desire. It will look something like this:

Then put it back in the oven for another 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Then it will look like this:

I like to jazz mine up with lots of hot sauce and salsa….
It was quite tasty and really quick and easy! I’m sure I’ll make it again! It’s basically burritos on a pizza, but we were out of tortillas so it worked well.
